This morning as I was viewing my  Etsy "favorites", I noticed that I have been drawn to collecting baby blue.  They looked so nice together, that putting them together in a treasury collection was a given.

Grass Roots

How, in all the 17 years of living in this area, did I possibly miss this treasure?!? My dear friend, Trish, asked me to do her a favor by driving her to her workplace, when in fact, she did ME the favor.  What a treat! Grass Roots in Ottertail County is filled with the unexpected.  It is what you would call (or I would call) "Beautiful Chaos".  I came home with a small collection of produce, so I am doubly rewarded by this visit.

Today I was presented with my first award. Actually, I didn't know anything like this existed, but I am excited to receive.  To Lana Koopman of My Design, My Life , thank you so very much for your recognition.

Ok, here goes:

Seven random facts about me:
1. I am a super taster/smeller.  Chances are I can figure out ingredients in a recipe upon taste.  If I smell someones perfume and find out the name, I probably will never forget it (the smell or the name). I recently was able to fulfill a dream of creating my own perfume in Grasse, France, the perfume capital of the world. It doesn't smell very good. Haha
2.  My dream job would be to be an event decorator and have a creative partner to fuel eachothers creative energies.
3. I take forever to tell a story and tend to go off on tangents.
4. Pet peaves...... dog's riding on a driver's lap, kids not in backseat, towels not folded neatly, kid's saying "like" all the time.
5. I cherish my longgggg walks with my daughter.  (wish my other daughter would join us in the fun)
6. I have a 83lb Goldendoodle that puts a smile on my face even when I don't always feel like smiling.
7. I'm known for my mint juleps and have an amazing porch perfect for drinking them on.  However, I have just discovered how to create the BEST Pineapple/Basil/Mojito and I may be posting a tutorial very soon.  Delish!!!!

This women accomplishes more in one day than I can in a year.  She has an incredible eye for design and recently purchased a new farmhouse that already looks as if she has had it for years. Amazing before and afters.  I am addicted to her site.
3. Anders Ruff of FabulousFeaturesbyAndersRuffCustomDesigns - Showcases the most incredibly decorated parties and printable accessories. So creative and inspiring.
4. Beth of PatinaWhite - her site was my first exposure into the blog world. She amazes me with her eye for finding beauty in JUNK. She has incredible eye for fashion, decorating, and is so darn clever with her creations.
5. Lisa of LisaLeonardDesigns -her jewelry designs are so personal, her eye for creative photojournalism is touching, and her writing touches my soul. She is everyone's sweetheart.
6. Cindy of MyRomanticHome - if it weren't for the men in my life, i would LOVE to decorated like Cindy.  Her style is so perfectly feminine and pretty. She is such an inspiring independant woman.
7. Courtney of pizzazzerie - everything you could ever desire in entertaining ideas. This site has it all!
8. Tina of CherryHillCottage - of all the blogs I follow, I have been the most inspired by this one.  Tina's taste is closest to mine (or at least.... how I WISH mine was!). I love all her ideas and wish I could borrow her for one day to work her magic in my home.

Quilts of a Different Color

A couple of new quilts posted onto my etsy page. These were published in Irena Bluhm's book "Quilts of a Different Color". The technique involves hand-coloring the quilting in with colored pencils and sealing with a textile medium. I can tell you that the top quilt (partially pictured) took over 60 hours just to complete the coloring process.

Vibrant Colors Quilt

I love to come up with quilt designs. However, I'm not too good about writing instructions. Maybe someday.  This is one of the quilts I pieced this summer.  It had a matching counterpart that was a twin size, but that is now home to a new graduate.  Of course, I'm kicking myself that i didn't take any pictures.

It has been my goal to utilize the fabric I already own.  I am proud to say that both of the quilts required NO PURCHASING of fabrics!!!!!

Attack of the Dog... COLLARS!!!!!!

This is my excuse!!!!!!! Believe it or not, this is just a small sampling of the multiple dog collars I have been making. I have to admit, its rather addicting to create these beauties. It also makes me want to have another dog. I don't think my husband would appreciate our dog, Hansel, walking around in a daisy embellished accessory. Who doesn't love a freebie?!! I know I do.  Keren's site is visually lovely and she has great... no, I mean GREAT craft tutorials and clip-art FREE for your personal use.

Cottage Color Party is...... YELLOW!!!!

Isn't yellow such a happy color? And, when it is in the form of a daisy, it's perfectly bliss.

This month's Etsy Cottage Style color party is YELLOW.  I am so happy that I have the perfect item to share.  My blue gingham purse/clutch is accented sweetly with the slightest touch of yellow in its delicate daisy trim.

Both of my college aged kids are home, so I officially have all 3 kids in their nest.  Yay!!! I just love having them home as I know the time is fleeting.

Everybody Makes Mistakes

I have been so busy getting ready to "Launch" my line of clutches, that I have to admit, I get a little sidetracked.  My cute little muslin bags arrived yesterday and I was so excited to show you, that I accidentally stamped my logo upside down.  Now I have Miley Cyrus' annoying song "Everybody Makes Mistakes" in my head.  (For those of you with teenage daughters, you most likely understand).

Blog Intimidation

Holy Smokes!  This is it... my first posting into the Blog world.  I have been consuming myself with "how-to" books and still feel clueless.  (Advice will be welcomed and appreciated.)
